How a Delhi home evolved into a timeless blend of vintage European elegance and everyday comfort
Type: The Identity Affair (Interior Makeover) | Location: Delhi | Size: Residential Home
Scope of the Project
A thoughtful makeover designed to refresh an existing home without losing its character. Working largely virtually over six months and just three site visits, we layered vintage European influences, restored beloved furniture pieces, introduced architectural details, and reimagined key spaces to create a home that feels timeless, warm, and deeply personal.
The Client Brief
Aarushi's home already had beautiful bones, but it no longer reflected her evolving style. Drawn to vintage European interiors, soft colours, collected furniture, and homes that feel layered over time, she wanted her space to feel warmer, more intentional, and uniquely hers. The challenge was not to start over, but to build upon what already existed, preserving the home's character while introducing thoughtful changes that would breathe new life into every room.
Description Notes
Rather than replacing everything, we focused on reimagining what was already there. Existing furniture pieces were restored and refreshed, while soft two-tone wall panelling introduced depth, character, and a sense of architectural charm. Gentle blush tones, vintage-inspired upholstery, and layered textiles helped create a home that feels elegant without feeling precious.
The dining room became one of the defining spaces within the home. An arched kitchen opening created a stronger connection between rooms, while a vintage dining set upholstered in classic check fabric introduced a distinctly European sensibility. A statement crockery cabinet, collected artwork, mirrors, and styling details added personality and warmth, creating a space designed as much for everyday meals as for gathering with loved ones.
The bedrooms embraced a quieter kind of charm. Serene wallpapers, soft linens, antique-inspired accents, and carefully layered textures transformed each room into a calming retreat. Completed almost entirely through virtual collaboration and just three site visits, the project is a reminder that meaningful change doesn't always require major renovations. Sometimes, thoughtful details and a clear vision are enough to make a home feel entirely new while keeping its soul intact.
