Small Space, Big Personality: A Bandra Rental Reworked

Small Space, Big Personality: A Bandra Rental Reworked

How thoughtful furniture, clever zoning, and softer layers transformed a compact home

Type: The Mood Affair | Location: Mumbai | Size: Living dining of a 2BHK

Scope of the Project

This living and dining makeover was about making a small rental work harder without making it feel crowded. Our clients already had furniture they wanted to keep, so the focus was on adding a few new pieces, improving the layout and bringing more of their personality into the space.

The Client Brief

The biggest challenge was fitting everything into a compact footprint: a TV, additional seating and a proper dining area. The design needed to make better use of every corner while keeping the home comfortable, warm and visually open.

Description Notes

The existing window became an opportunity for additional seating, with a window bench creating a cosy spot without taking up extra floor space. Alongside it, a two-seater dining nook made room for everyday meals while keeping the living and dining areas connected.

In the living area, a bone inlay TV console, two armchairs and open shelves added both storage and character. An organic-shaped coffee table, cushions, artwork and a rug brought in colour and softness, while the combination of blinds and soft sheers completely changed the feel of the windows.

Plants added the final layer, bringing even more life into the compact space without adding visual heaviness. The result is a small rental where every corner has been given a purpose, balancing the practical needs of everyday living with the personality of the people who live there.
